EYFS Level 3 Learning Support Assistant

Location: Downsview Primary and Nursery School

Start date: 2nd September 2026

Contract and hours: Grade 5 (spine point 13) – Full time equivalent: £33,012 - post is term time only, pro rata.
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (30‑minute unpaid break)

Contract type: Term‑time only – Fixed‑term contract

The role
We require a creative, motivated and knowledgeable Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join our diverse, caring and popular three form entry community school. The post will be based in our Early Years Foundation Stage, predominantly within Nursery. The role will include lunchtime supervision and occasional PPA/cover within EYFS.

Person specification — applicants should demonstrate

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare recognised by the DfE.
  • Experience working across the Early Years phase, including Nursery.
  • Proven, successful experience as a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant, including delivering teaching to classes and groups within the Early Years phase.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and computing skills.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and adapting practice to meet individual needs.
  • The ability to work independently and constructively as part of a team, with a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities within a classroom and school.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a reflective approach and a willingness to develop professionally.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with all members of the school community.
  • The ability to undertake first aid duties, with either a current paediatric first aid certificate or  willingness to attend the relevant training.
  • Commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm.
