Parents/carers have a right to withdraw their child from RE

We must grant requests from parents/carers to withdraw their child, wholly or partly, from:

• Receiving religious education (RE) provided by the school in accordance with the school’s basic curriculum
• Attending religious worship in school or participating in a trip to a place of worship

However, we will ensure that parents/carers are aware of the RE syllabus, which is designed to be relevant to all pupils and respectful of individual beliefs. We will also offer parents/carers the opportunity to discuss our RE curriculum with us, enabling them to make an informed decision.
