Trust

'We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.' Maya Angelou

A trustworthy person is someone who can be relied upon, to be honest, truthful, reliable, dependable, credible and safe. Trustworthiness is an important quality and it is imperative we invest time in building this in the lives of our children. When you think about the people you surround yourself with, they are usually people that you can trust. At Downsview, we teach children how to trust and how to be trusted. Building trusting relationships in schools is central to the wellbeing of children, teachers and parents and underpins an effective learning environment. Teaching our children the importance of honesty will help many other areas of their lives.
