Downsview Primary and Nursery School is thrilled to offer an opportunity for an exceptional EYFS Reception Class Teacher to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and care for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters children's learning and development, ensuring each child reaches their full potential. You’ll work closely with colleagues to embody the ethos and values of Downsview Primary and Nursery School, while supporting the wellbeing and progress of all our children.

Role: Extended Schools Support Assistant
Working Hours: 3 hours between 3.00pm – 6.15pm
Hours per Week: 9 hours per week term time only, including Inset days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Salary: Grade 2 (spine point 3-5) (FTE £27,729 - £28,521) pro rata
Contract Type: Fixed term contract for academic year 2024/2025
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, innovative and friendly Support Assistant to work with our Extended Schools Team.
The Support Assistant must be knowledgeable in all aspects of school club operation and have experience in working with children aged 4-11 years.
The role will involve:
- Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of the children
- Supervising and supporting the children in play and work activities, including the use of ICT skills in various media platforms
- Promoting healthy choices and active outdoor learning.
- Ensuring that the areas of the school used are left fit for purpose at the end of each session.
Job Requirements
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training in first aid and safeguarding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
- Experience of working with children aged 4 – 11 years in a play based setting
- Awareness of national standards in childcare and the Early Years Foundation Stage is important but not essential
- Show creativity in planning a variety of activities
Desirable
- Experience preferred, but not necessary as full training will be provided to the right candidates.
- Certificate in Safeguarding
- Paediatric or First Aid at Work Certificate or willingness to train
- Use of technology, covering all media platforms

- Previous experience working with primary age children and a willingness to work across the school;
- Good Literacy and Numeracy skills, relevant experience or at least NVQ Level 2 qualifications/ equivalent;
- The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding roles and responsibilities within a classroom and a school;
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude, reflective and with a willingness to improve their practice;
- Able to build strong working relationships with all members of the school community.
