Friends of Downsview
A very warm welcome from Friends of Downsview 2021-2022
Every parent/ carer with children at the school automatically becomes a member of our wonderful team and we welcome any parent/ carer to support us on our mission to raise funds for Downsview Primary School. We aim to support the teachers in their role to provide a stimulating environment and enhance the children's learning experience by fundraising and organising social and community events. The money raised helps to pay for extra school equipment and activities. We also work alongside the school's Junior Governors to have 'pupil voice' on our spending. Our team is a great way to meet people and play an active role in your child's schooling experience. It doesn't require a huge amount of time, a regular commitment or any special training.
Our Committee members are:
Secretary: Catherine/ Beatrix
Core team members: Sasha, Jo, Ashlee
Staff representative: Nikki Gray, Senior Assistant Head Teacher
If you are interested in joining, or would like to find out more, then please contact us using our e-mail address: Friends@downsview.croydon.sch.uk.
Introducing the Friends of Downsview – our new-look PTA!
Downsview has always had a thriving PTA, but this spring we have had a revamp! The PTA will now be known as Friends of Downsview. The new name and specially created logo reflect and celebrate the family feel of Downsview School and our strong ties as both a school and wider community.
We have welcomed several new committee members this year and the whole team is working hard to bring you a fantastic Jubilee Celebration, our annual Summer Fayre extravaganza and also, for the first time, the Circus!
Working closely with Mrs Gray, we have big ambitions to bring our Downsview families a range of exciting events in the coming months and years that will raise vital funds we can invest back into the school, for extra resources and enriching opportunities for the students.
We have created this short film about Friends of Downsview to explain who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved: See below.
Every parent and carer is automatically a member of Friends of Downsview for the duration of their child(ren)’s time at the school. If you can offer your time as a committee member, or just now and again for planning or attending events, please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org or via our new website pta-events.co.uk/dvps. This new site also includes detailed information and booking links for all of our events. The link for this can also be found below.
